Food Network Kitchen is a first-of-its-kind, 360-degree cooking experience that brings together Food Network’s content, recipes, and world’s top chefs. This Direct-to-Consumer app allows home cooks to stream episodes, browse recipes, participate and interact with chefs in live classes, and even order groceries for a true end-to-end experience.

I led a cross-functional team to develop and pitch the initial concepts for this new product. Setting the overall design, UX, and creative vision, I then led my design team from beginning to end through all phases and launch to market. I continue to drive the ongoing conception and creation of product features to expand and strengthen customer engagement and increase conversion to subscription.

cross-platform & end-to-end

The Food Network Kitchen app lives on iOS, Android, Web, Fire TV, and Echo Show for a truly continuous and cross-platform experience. Fans can watch their favorite shows on FireTV, then continue from where they paused on the Web. Recipes saved on Echo Show can later be accessed on mobile at the grocery store.

Food Network Kitchen also supports every touch point of a customer’s cooking journey, from network to table, making the entire process simpler and faster. A customer can watch an episode or class, find the recipe, add the ingredients to a shopping list, order deliveries to her front door, and use the app to cook along.

live classes

Home cooks can take live cooking classes and interact with their favorite celebrity chefs. Submit a question through the Q&A - and get a response and shout-out in real time as the chef describes how to best adapt the recipe and cooking techniques to specific needs.

Fans can browse and watch shows from Food Network’s extensive library of original culinary programming going back decades, viewing and saving recipes to cook later on.

meal planning

“What’s for dinner?” Food Network Kitchen’s meal planning tool and editorially curated menus make weeknight dinner planning easy as pie. Add recipes to a plan, schedule and organize meals, and add ingredients to a shopping list for immediate delivery.

shopping integration

The Food Network Kitchen app connects recipes with a robust shopping list tool that organizes ingredients by aisle or meal. Customers can open the list when shopping in-store, or use the grocery integration to get front door delivery.

cook along, hands free

On Echo Show, customers can use voice commands to cook along with step-by-step recipes. Go back, go forward, check ingredients, pause videos.
